Jacq and B.C.
Jacq had just gotten seated when Billy appeared seemingly out of nowhere with a girl she had never seen before. Of course it wasn't out of nowhere,
she knew it was his enhanced speed at work. Smiling sweetly and innocently she motioned for them to sit down and join her.
"I haven't ordered anything yet besides some lemon water, what do you guys want?"
Looking over her own menu, she truly let on that this was nothing but a lunch, there would be no fighting though there could be some bickering. They
were out in broad day light after all.
Billy only smiled and sat down opposite of Jacq and the four stool table, offering the seat next to him to Bird. Grabbing a menu he simply shrugged
his shoulder.
"I don't know sweetheart, why don't you tell me what you want?"
Jacq kept reading her menu, ignoring Billy's question for now.

Bird was still a bit miffed about the whole ‘phone call is more important’ incident when they arrived. Of course that ‘incident’ had only been
several seconds prior, so it was surprising that she hadn’t gotten over it yet. She looked around, curious about their new surroundings. The idea of
being have was repulsive to her. Still, she would try. . . but only because he was so cute. Then he smiled at the other woman. Jealousy swept over
Bird like a powerful ocean wave. It burned in her veins and filled her eyes. She managed to keep a smile on her face, but that was about as far as
her self-restraint went. She looked the woman up and down. What do I want? You to f#$% off! Bird smiled a sickeningly sweet little smile
as she sat where Billy indicated.
Bird hadn’t noticed it at the time, but at some point she had come to think of Billy as ‘hers’. She didn’t share well, either. She picked up a menu
and looked at it. A good thing, too. Otherwise one of them may well have seen the violent look that crossed her young face when Billy called the
other woman ‘sweetheart’. It took her a moment to control her facial expressions again. She knew what she wanted. . . but doubted it could be found
on the menu. Humans were rather jittery about murder.
“No water for me. Do they serve bloody marys here?”

Sam
The restaurant he was heading for wasn't very far from their office building and Sam could see Jacq sitting at a table outside from a distance. As he
approached he could also see Billy Crogan appearing suddenly with a blond woman Sam had never seen before on his arm. Stopping dead in his tracks Sam
watched them intently as they sat down. But it hadn't been Billy's apparition that had made him stop. It had been the young woman. Her feelings were
radiating out from around her strongly enough for Sam to feel them clearly even from the distance. And they were not good feelings. Her feelings
reminded him of that of a spoilt child, but with the clear hostility of a grown up demon gone very, very bad. Taking only a moment to look at them and
take in everything he began walking toward them again, smiling as brightly as ever.
"Billy," he smiled with a nod as he walked up toward the now only empty seat. "I don't believe I've met your beautiful new friend." With that he
turned his attention toward the woman, giving her his brightest most charming smile as he sat down next to Jacq - sending her a soft telepathic
message as he did. "Be careful. That girl is a ticking time bomb." He didn't ask anything about why or how come Billy Crogan had appeared
at the restaurant just short distance away from their headquarters.

Jacq and Billy
Billy smiled at Bird's question, and couldn't help but place an arm on her chair and so it was more or less as if he held an arm around her.
"Not sure, love, but let's ask..." Stopping a waiter in his tracks, Billy asked about the drink and though he got a very questioning look the
waiter soon appeared with drinks - a bloody marry for Bird and a scotch for Billy.
Jacq looked between the two with a polite smile, and just as she was about to order the lunch of the day, Sam showed up and she had to restrain
herself from freezing them all in position and yell at him. Not looking at Bird as his message came, she went ahead and ordered.
Billy grinned towards Sam, not extending a hand or anything, knowing full well that the agent wouldn't have taken it anyway. "How rude of me not to
introduce you, Bird this is agent Sam and agent Jacqueline," he pointed with his glass to the two at a time. "Sam, Jacqie, this is Bird," Billy
didn't let on that it was a new encounter. Caressingly his hand stroke her back and his fingers soon played with her long blond hair.
"It's nice to meet you," Jacq greeted, really wanting to ask the really good questions but she had hoped to talk to Billy alone about that. Instead
she turned to Sam, smiling sweetly but not really having any sweet thoughts.

Bird’s smile grew in warmth and she nearly purred when Billy placed his arm around her shoulders. She snuggled into his side. Smugly she glanced up
at the woman across the table while Billy order the drinks. He called her ‘love’! Her quicksilver emotions flittered across her face with ease.
A fourth person approached their table and her innocent blue eyes became wary. He smiled at her and called her beautiful. She liked him instantly.
Still, she followed Billy’s lead when introduced and did nothing but look at them and smile. She was a beauty and knew it. From her sunny blonde
hair and bright blue eyes to her sixteen year old curves. She was fit and slim. While she looked sixteen and had seen centuries roll past, she
really was the spoiled child Sam had thought her to be.
“Agents? We dine with them. . . not on them?” Her face was pure innocent confusion as she looked up at Billy, Jacq, and Sam. “This will be a first
for me.”

Sam
Ignoring Jacqs obvious irritation at his arrival, as well as her fake sweet smile, Sam just smiled at Bird as the other demoness spoke.
"Well, Bird, I for one hope it won't be the last time," he answered with a friendly wink before catching the attention of one of the waiters and
ordering in a meal for himself. After all it was lunch time and they were at a lunch restaurant.
"Can I get you anything else?" he asked politely toward Bird and Billy before he let the waiter go. I'd never hurt to be polite, even if you were
talking to murderers and especially not if you were talking to a crazy person - which was more or less what he considered Bird being. Not that he
would let that show at all but still.

Jacq and Billy
Smiling wide at Bird's comment, Billy declined ordering a meal allowing Bird to choose however she wished. It wasn't that he didn't eat, he just
preferred to have business taken care off as he was now dining with the countries two top agents.
Jacq allowed it to be silence at the table for a while, knowing that it wouldn't take long for the waiter to arrive with their food considering it
was a little before regular lunch time and the kitchen would have their staff at full capacity. Just a few minutes passed and then Jacq and Sam was
served with their food, and so was Bird if she had chosen to order any. The waiter quickly left them again.
"Has Blackthorne arrived?" Jacq asked without touching her food.
"Yes," Billy answered promptly.
"Why stick around then? I never knew you as a follower," Jacq had decided to ignore the fact that they weren't alone and went on as if they had
been.
"Bored."
"Really?"
"Honestly I happen to be very curious with how the situation will pan out, with you here to fight him I mean..."
"I'm touched."
"Don't be, I want to see you beg for your life," Billy let go of Bird and leaned in to focus on Jacq, almost as if waiting for a chance to touch
the leader - for all the wrong, or right, reasons.
Jacq smiled an almost unpleasant smile, the tension was building up. Thinking about Luc she was about to fib, not knowing how close to the truth she
really was.
"I hear someone is coming to give Blackthorne a run for his money."
"See, how can I possibly be anywhere but here?"
"Seline and Lunetta with Blackthorne?"
"Yes, they are here but define with him."
"No need, I think we're done here."
"Just a question..."
"Yes?"
"Alissa with you here in Miami?"
"No, last thing I heard, she was staying in London."
Billy nodded his head and with that finished his scotch. Standing up, he smiled at Sam again before gently taking Bird by the hand, marking that they
were now leaving - he really didn't care if Bird was eating or not, he had a better idea of fun for them.
"Let's go love," he said with a smile towards her. "Good bye, agents," with that they were gone in the blink of an eye.
Jacq sighed heavily and silently started eating her lunch, not even looking in Sam's direction.
Lunetta
Walking arm in arm with her sister, Lunetta and Seline were on the other side of town - oblivious to the meeting that had just taken place. Dragging
her sister with her, she entered the Gucci store, happily dancing towards 'a little black dress'. Grabbing it and a pair of stiletto shoes, she
looked over to see what her sister was choosing.
"In search of something particular? It's been a while since we last went shopping..."
Getting into a changing room, she soon danced out of it wearing the dress and shoes. Looking herself over in one of the many mirrors, she continued
conversing with Seline.
"I miss my boy toy, have you seen him around lately?"

Sam
Inside Sam matched Jacqs heavy sigh as the man they were hunting disappeared as quickly as he had probably arrived.
"How can you be sure he would tell the ruth when you lied?" he asked calmly as his food arrived and he began eating as if nothing out of the
ordinary had happened. Ofcourse he knew that Billy hadn't been lying, since it was one of the tings both emotions and thoughts would have informed
Sam of.
Smling at Jacq, eventhough she was clearly ignoring him so far, Sam couldnt help but to feel uncomfortable. Something wasn't quite right. Not between
them and not with Jacqline.
Seline
Looking around at the clothes in a nonchalant way, Seline finally walked over to a silky red garment that would fit snugly over her curves and with a
knee-length skirt.
"I wouldn't wear just anything" she smile at her sisters question as she, with a gesture, made the clerk fetch her a pair of black shoes with a
golden stiletto heel. Following her sisters lead with a smile Seline changed into the dress as well, frowning slightly at the next question.
"Your boy toy..." Walking out of the dressing room she paused gracefully as she took in Lunettas apperance and gave an appreciating nod. "Which boy
toy would that be? You have so many..."

Jacq
Taking a sip of her water before brushing a strand of blond hair out of her face, Jacq still kept from looking straight at him as she had flat-out
lied to him - but it had been for a good reason. It had been for them...
"Because Billy's too cocky to lie, he thinks he's indestructible," taking another bite, she actually looked up and tried to relax enough to enjoy
the sun. The constant hatred that had flared up after Alissa had been threatened was draining her quickly and she started wishing that her father had
been there. Only man could calm her as good as her father and though he was right next to her. There was no way for her to tell him what she had done.
Her dark, dirty and horrible secret.
"Our number one priority should be to find out who put the hit out in the first place, however, if we get rid of the worst assassin it might buy us
time before the next one pops up..." Jacq lost her appetite and dropped the fork. "I hate this, really really hate this... Why one of my best
friends? It feels like there's something obvious right in front of me and I can't see it, why..."
Lunetta
"Get that outfit, fabulous and just slutty enough..." The saleswoman gave her a horrified look which Lunetta ignored on purpose. Usually her
language was impeccable but she loved messing with people.
"No, my boy toy, the only one I keep returning to," Lunetta pouted a little. "I thought he would be here when we got here but so far nooothing,"
slipping into the booth she changed from her dress to a black jacket and black trousers. Stepping out you could clearly, yet subtly, see the red lace
bra.

Seline
"I see...." making another slow turn in front of the full body mirror Seline's answer could almost be taken for a comment on her own outfit except
for the fact that she then turned to her sister with a slightly wicked smile on her matching red lips. "That boy toy!" Ignoring the saleswoman as
she made a move to approach them again she merely let here eyes slide over Lunettas appearance.
"Well he doesn't know what he's missing..." she winked, obvously approving of her sisters choice in clothing. "I'm sure he'll show up soon
though, everyone seem to be at least passing through. After all this is where the action is!" finishing of with a pearly laughter Seline tossed the
slightly stunned saleswoman a jet-black credit card she'd elegantly fished up from her cleavage.

Sam
It didn't pass Sam by that Jacq avoided looking at him, and they had known each other too well for him not too be able to guess why that was. But as
she relaxed slightly he noticed that he had been almost more tense than her, and not being in complete control and completely aware of ones own
feelings wasn't a very good idea if you were an empath.
Taking a few seconds to control his own emotions and almost forcing his body to relax Sam listened to Jacq speak, nodding slightly as what she said
about Billy made sense. He had been sorely tempted to take the man down right then and there but that had of course not been a very good idea...
As Jacq dropped her fork Sam shook his head slightly. "I know what you mean," he said, and though it could be taken as a joke seeing what powers he
had it was in no way meant as one. Something that was obvious by his unusually serious voice and expression.
"I know you probably don't want to hear this right now... But the only way to find out what that "something" is, is by doing the same thing as we
do on every other case... By tracking down the contractor through our usual network." Hesitating slightly, not sure if he should say the next
sentence that had been on his lips or not, Sam shrugged slightly and did what he usually did. Spoke his mind. "Your father would have said the same
thing Jacq."
He and her father had had their reasons for not getting along but he could still say with out lying what her father would have done had he been there
to offer his advice. They might have had their indifferences but they had still known each other well. They couldn't help to do other wise
considering their line of work.

Jacq
The young woman didn't say anything about his comment about "knowing how she felt", sensing all to well the serious tone in his voice. Knowing that
she had to eat and drink she looked down at her food but she was unable to even consider getting another bite down. The horrible secret... it felt
like it was eating away at her brain. Looking over at Sam, he'd probably feel how he and everything around them started to slow down without coming
to a full stop.
This moment right here was the reason to why she had stayed away for several years. Many good jobs had passed her by, but it was easier to remove
yourself rather then have him removed which just didn't seem fair. Breathing in heavily, the molecules around her started to pick up their normal
pace again and everything seemed normal.
"Billy and I was an item once," she said, words calm but as she reached for her water her hand was shaking and so she let it fall. Her eyes didn't
dart but were as steady as they could be considering the situation. No more words came over her lips, she waited for his reaction - which she
predicted would be bad.

Sam was just watching her and waiting for her to speak. He could feel that there was something bothering her no matter how hard he tried to keep from
picking up on her emotions.
Feeling how everything began to slow down Sam just assumed that it was Jacqs way to get a moment to gather her thoughts, or reach a decision, so he
didn't really think much about it.
As time picked up again and Jacq finally spoke it was as if a bucket of icy water had been poured over him. The thought of Billy even touching Jacq
was enough to make his blood boil. And her touching him? No. It was not something he had expected to hear about. But at the same time he immediately
understood why she had been trying so hard to keep it from him. How he felt could never come close to how she felt about it. Especially after finding
out what Billy really was. He assumed she hadn't known when they were an item... He knew her well enough to know she'd never touched him with a
stick if she'd known.
Finally noticing how quiet Jacq was it hit him he hadn't said anything for several minutes. And to be honest he didn't know what to say. Obviously
she knew it was a stupid thing... but had she really liked Billy?
"Did you... care for him?" Pulling a hand through his hair Sam wasn't even sure he wanted to know the answer. Or even what to do with the
information he had.

Jacq
Flinching as he asked if she had cared for him she opened and closed her mouth a couple of times, just barely keeping her eyes dry.
"I had a crush..." The words finally came over her lips. Leaning backwards in her stool, winching as the scar down her lower back was remembering
what had happened not all too long ago. "... but no, I didn't care for him." Not many would know the difference, but Sam would.
Taking a sip of her water she knew there was no more hiding, yet she wasn't one at the moment to speak without being asked question. There was
nothing voluntary about this situation - but perhaps it could be cathartic.
Lunetta
"He really doesn't know!" Getting out of the suit she had been trying she tossed the pants and the jacket onto the counter so it landed next to her
sister's credit card.
Grabbing her dress from the small dressing room she slipped it on, not even noticing the poor sales woman's reaction. It was true what her sister
said about this is where the action was.
"This little town won't know what hit it..." She murmured, looking out the window and the people walking by.

Sam
He knew she was telling the truth, and he knew this was what she'd been hiding all along. It was as if a wall, the wall that had always been between
them since the break-up and then grown taller from the secrets, had finally begun to crumble.
But Sam didn't know what to think yet. He didn't even know what he felt. And that was not a good thing for an empath as strong as himself. Something
he was at least present enough to know, even though he couldn't think of a way to calm the mixed feelings that had begun to stir until it was like a
storm raging inside him. A storm feeding off the emotions of everyone and everything around him.
Closing his eyes for a moment he felt sure Jacq would pick up at least a bit of his emotional confusion, something that only made it worse. Soon
anyone close by would be able to pick it up, though the humans wouldn't know why and would mostly feel uneasy. But he and Jacq had a bond, one that,
he knew, would make it possible for her to feel some of it already.
Taking a deep breath he tried to use all the hard training he'd received to handle times like this. Though it had been too may years for him to
remember since the last time it had happened now.
An image passed though his mind. A woman lying down on a staircase... Blood. He opened his eyes again with a muffled gasp. A thought flashing in his
mind "I'm finally losing it...".
Then his eyes met Jacqs again.
"Concentrate, Sam... Catch that one good feeling and cling on to it... It was what he'd learnt. The best way to break a downward spiral. In
the chaos of feelings, all ready to tear him apart, was always a few good ones. Always.
Jacq's blue eyes. He'd always loved them. Even before he fell in love with her. And then he had just loved everything about her. Sam placed his head
in his hands as he forced himself to remember every good moment they'd spent, every smile she'd given him, every kiss... Until the turmoil inside
him slowly subsided.
Shaking his head slightly, still holding it in his hands, Sam looked up with a small, crooked smile on his face.
"How come it's always you, Jacq? Always you who pull me back from the edge of darkness." He wasn't really thinking about what he was saying, the
haze of all those emotions still muddying his otherwise brilliant green eyes. But somehow he felt she would understand him. That she'd understood
what had almost happened to him even though it had all passed over in no more than five minutes.
Seline
Having had a few more clothes packed up and paid for with the credit card Seline hooked arms with her sister as they walked out of the store a bag
each in their free hands. Not even stopping, she flinged the card in the gutter outside, having used up all the credit she no longer needed it.
"So, sister dear... Shall we see if anything interesting has happened in the crummy old place while we've been off having fun, or should we head
over too the bar?"

Jacq
Having been watching him with a shaky hand holding the glass with water, Jacq slowly placed the glass back on the table as she felt something coming
from Sam. Before, at the office, she hadn't been able to tell if what she felt was his doing or not but sitting here now she knew that the feelings
that were seeping into her was indeed from him. With out as much as a blink of an eye the whole world around them slowed down and came to a stop.
Hearing him gasp, she wondered what was wrong - what he was thinking about and as his eyes met her she held them there, trying to lock him in place...
to force him to stare her in the eyes just like that. Something was wrong, and she had to be there for him.
Watching him place his head in his hands, Jacq edged closer in her seat raising her arms slightly. Hearing his words she finally put her arms around
him and pulled him closer, leaning her forehead against his. Closing her eyes they started to tear up though she was fighting so hard to keep her
emotions in check.
"Because you do the same for me..." Her voice was barley audible. "When I was recovering, I kept dreaming of you... thinking of you... to keep
breathing..." The world remained frozen around them.
