What are you reading right now?

Following the 'what are you listening to now' trend.

I finally started reading 'A thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini (the author of 'The Kite Runner'). I heard great things about this book and I've been looking forward to reading it for a while now.

What about you people, what are you reading at the moment?

I actually just finished reading Sarah Waters "Tipping the Velvet". It was special to say the least, and her first novel. Personally I liked her newer novels better - which might not be so strange :)

I think I'm gonna start reading Marian Keyes "The Other Side of the Story" but I haven't made up my mind yet. It's that or Conn Iggulden's "Wolf of the Plains"...

Davey, I've considered reading both of those books, can you recommend them? What are they like?

I've been buried knee-high in Individual Treatment Plans and Risk Ratings for the residents where I work. It's certainly not recreational reading, but it definitely includes tons of reading. Charts, medical records, and electronic records. No fun.

Reading some Samenow stuff about the criminal minds and thinking errors for those institutionalized, since those are the types of clients I deal with on a daily basis.

I'm reading All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris. She's a must read author for anyone who likes supernatural romances!

"Den Röda Vargen" by Liza Marklund (I think it's "The Red Wolf" in English, they have been published in English, but they're hard to find) I've loved her books so far, and I still do!

Sarah Waters - The Night Watch

At first I wasn't impressed, but as I got deeper into it I got hooked - here's the weird part. The book goes backwards - in time that is.
It starts somewhere 1946 I think, then all of a sudden it's 1942 or whatever - what the hell? I will never find out of things worked out... Damn! Still I have to finish it... weirdo book, a very cool approach!

I've just begun Kelly Armstrong's "Bitten" - and even though I'm only like 30 pages in I'm so hooked, I've written in the genre myself but never really read anything in it ever so... I feel stupid lol because it's so great!

What's not so great is that besides "Bitten" - only "Stolen" has been translated to Swedish and I really do prefer to read in my own language... but I will probably have to order them all in English, I wanna know everything lol ;)

Incredibly Loud & Extremely Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. It's an extraordinary book about a 9-year old boy discovering New York and his jarring reality while dealing with the loss of his father and the aftermath of 9/11. It's poetic existentialism from a little boy's perspective of a world that isn't that scary but has endless possibilities. Sometimes it's annoying, sometimes it's sweet, and other times it's endearing. Unfortunately for most readers, the boy has my attention span, so it can be hard to follow, but I really enjoy it. Maybe one day I'll pick it up again and actually finish it lol!

Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger.

Now, I loved loved loved The Devil Wears Prada, I thought it was genius (then again I love chic lit). This however... is a sleepy reprise in a new environment, but it's about the girl thrown into a glamours life she's not sure she wants and starts disapointing her friends because "she just have to work"...
